Non-Verbal Reasoning

Figure series, mirror images, water images, and paper folding — reasoning tested through shapes and figures instead of words.

Common Non-Verbal Types

TypeWhat It Tests
Figure SeriesIdentifying the pattern of rotation, shading, or addition across a sequence of figures
Mirror ImageHow a figure appears when reflected in a vertical mirror (left-right flip)
Water ImageHow a figure appears when reflected in water (upside-down flip)
Paper Folding & CuttingPredicting the pattern of holes/cuts when a folded paper is unfolded
Embedded FiguresFinding a given simple figure hidden within a complex figure
💡 Mirror image flips left-right (like a mirror on the right side of the figure); water image flips top-bottom (like a reflection in water below the figure).
⚠️ For paper folding questions, count each fold carefully — a hole punched through multiple folded layers appears multiple times, symmetrically, when unfolded.
